Rest in peace Carmine Infantino, a legendary comic book artist who helped bring comics into the Silver Age.

He’s the guy who brought The Flash back from oblivion, creating the iconic red costume and many of the elements people think of when they think of the Scarlet Speedster, including characters like Wally West, Iris West, Captain Cold, Captain Boomerang, Gorilla Grodd, and Mirror Master. Outside The Flash, he co-created Batgirl and the Elongated Man. Did I mention he created the concept of the Multiverse in comics?

Mr. Infantino was probably one of the most iconic comic book creators of all time.

A streak of lightning across a red sky glows in his honor tonight.

Superman vs. Asmodel, King Angel of the Bull Host of Heaven, from Grant Morrison and Howard Porter’s JLA.
My favorite part of this story is when Superman says, “HOW DARE YOU ATTACK MY PEOPLE?!” and I realize, “He’s talking about us.”

The first of our series of ads taken from the $1 comic bin is a 1984 one for Kenner Super Powers figures. How many did you have?

THESE WERE THE BEST ACTION FIGURES. I had Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Robin, Lex Luthor, and the Flash. I had Mr. Freeze, too, but he was released later.

DC Superheroes by José Luis García-López

Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez basically was DC Comics to me in the 80’s. His stuff was on everything - my Super Powers action figures, my pajamas, my slippers… I still love this art and I will reblog it for always.

JLA #3 (1997) written by Grant Morrison, pencils by Howard Porter, inks by John Dell

My favorite incarnation of the Justic League by far. Morrison and Porter’s JLA is one of my favorite comics ever.
